Allameh Tabataba’i University, in line with its mission to expand collaboration between academia and industry—particularly to enhance the influence of humanities in addressing the country’s fundamental challenges—has committed to organizing prestigious international conferences with the participation of distinguished scholars and experts.
As Allameh Tabataba’i University is a leading academic institution offering specialized programs such as Oil and Gas Law (Master’s level) and International Oil and Gas Contract Management (Doctoral level), it places special emphasis on the legal, economic, and managerial aspects of international oil and gas contracts.
Iran is currently facing a significant investment gap in its the energy sector due to international sanctions. As a result, strategic thinking and practical solutions are urgently needed to enhance production in these sectors. One key outcome of such strategic thinking has been the recognition of the need to rely more heavily on domestic capital to drive growth in production.
In this context, two key stakeholders emerge: on one side, companies, funds, banks, and institutions with capital—commonly referred to as investors and financiers; and on the other, companies operating in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors. It was recognized that bringing these two groups together—particularly through an international conference involving both domestic and international experts and organizations interested in the Iranian market—could significantly increase opportunities for synergy and collaboration.
With this goal in mind, the International Conference on Investment and Financing in the Energy Sector seeks to explore practical and academic solutions to strengthen cooperation and build networks between these two key groups.
While the concept may appear straightforward, the path forward is, in fact, highly complex and demands both scientific insight and pragmatic action to overcome existing obstacles. As such, the conference extends an invitation to scholars, experts, and professionals from a wide range of disciplines to submit their work within the conference's thematic areas. Simultaneously, it calls on companies, banks, investment funds, financial institutions, and energy sector firms to present their scientific and operational achievements to the broader community.
This initiative represents a meaningful step toward enhancing industry-academia collaboration. It is our hope that bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical expertise will pave the way for increased investment and financing in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors, ultimately leading to a substantial rise in national production driven by domestic capital.
Furthermore, we aspire to develop practical models that allow the Iranian public to invest in these critical industries, fostering widespread participation and helping to unlock their full production potential.
